CBD oil…?

CBD has been at the forefront of all confusion.

CBD – is one of 500 plus cannabinoids found across this family of over 170 variants (difficult to map the himalayan terrain – there will definitely be more than 170 species)

  1. Cloves have cannabinoids (eugenol) – so do every other herb/masala
  2. Abuse of anything is dangerous – don’t eat 10 cloves together ever
  3. Cannabinoids don’t always cause psychoactive effects – some are connected to other senses like aroma – our sense are strange – the lily flower has no smell given how it looks – yet a lemongrass looks so banal with such a memorable aroma.
  4. They are called Cannabinoids because they engage with our Endo-Cannabinoid nervous system comprising of very specific neural processes – its like this plant works with our brains in very specific ways.

Factors as much as our race and genetics come into play to determine how that particular human brain responds to CBD exposure.

BUT…

CBD doesn’t exist in isolation !

CBD doesn’t exist in nature – in isolation !

In the stems, stalks, leaves and flowers – it sits as a 3D mesh – interwoven into other cannabinoids – in ratios. Each combination connects with all other combinations – to get a 3D mesh like structure.

Once you clean the seed well – the seeds will be devoid of this cannabinoid mesh. Instead – they carry a whole range of nutrients.

When CBD enters the blood – this mesh goes through the brain’s neural machinery – and alters synapse formation.

Measuring CBD

If the oil says 12% CBD – it means during testing 100 gms of oil – 12 gms changed color to blue because the test was designed to isolate the CBD by inking it blue.

But that’s not the correct picture – 12 gms of CBD wasn’t sitting alone in the corner.

…12 gms of CBD wasn’t sitting alone in the corner !

The CBD lived in small groups – in ratios – with other cannabinoids. THC, CBN, Delta Variants etc.

These cannabinoid ratios – they form the mesh. It’s called the plant’s cannabinoid profile.

Over time ranging from a few seconds – to sometimes a few days – this profile gets absorbed and used by the brain. The volume matters, the ratios matter, and the human subject matters. You can do the math !

Heavy CBD exposure will usually cause more recognizable effects – sooner. We may get nausea or headaches.

Low exposure may not be noticeable for some people !

Sometimes the ratios were such that you are feeling all light and peppy after eating the CBD oil.

But any of these responses are NOT because of CBD alone – each and every other cannabinoid in that profile plays a role.

The difference between a salad with raw onion and without – if you will. Or a pizza with or without pineapple on it.

The number of factors in food that influence the human brain – are spectacularly large.

Most human brains will benefit from cannabinoids.

Unlike alcohol that damages the neuron (and permanently in some cases) – CBD is part of the bigger picture – the collection of beneficial compounds from this plant.

Just like you don’t want to eat 10 cloves together – abuse of this plant’s power can be unbecoming.

During an unpleasant exposure –

If a negative thought comes into our brain at that time of exposure – our brain may obsess over it. This can lead to anxiety.

All along Himalayas – people eat the seeds – but they stay away from the plant. The reason is that an unknown profile can cause an unpleasant experience.

Simple solution to exposure – sleep it off. Even 1 x REM cycle is enough to mop up the brain floor.

And this is the hook – natural sleep gets altered with exposure to CBD.

So if you have trouble sleeping – eating CBD oil will not resolve it any more than alcohol or pharmaceutical drug.

To get you better sleep – your own brain has to do the work. And this comes only from Diet and Exercise – 2 of the 3 pillars.

Your device may be telling you that your deltas are being hit. That is probably inaccurate. The device only registers pulse behavior – the cleanliness of the sink wash is only known to us – after we wake up.

Seeds and their oils are great (as long as they are cleaned thoroughly) – psychotropic cannabinoids should be consumed with responsibility.

Is CBD oil helpful or not ?

Recently CBD has been successfully extracted and clinically administered to patients. The range of success is remarkably wide – from joint pains to self-destruction of malignant tissue.

Why is there a confusion then ?

The only people who have successfully extracted CBD in pure form – are pharmaceutical companies – they haven’t demonstrated the most ethical methods of working in the last 100 years.

The category of food where this matters – is oil extracted from the seeds of the Cannabis plant. This oil is rich in nutrients and devoid of any cannabinoids – it is correctly categorized as food.

But the market has products that claim CBD in their product name – even though the product is made by cold pressing the seeds.

What is going on?

If the seeds are not cleaned well – they will carry cannabinoids in their final output. Cleaning seeds is tedious and like handling nuclear material – you have to be careful and accountable. Not every trading mindset wants to take that up full time.

Will CBD oil help my sleep ?

Yes. It should. But if the profile is not ‘tuned’ to you – you can fall into the unpleasant experience bucket. Let’s be honest – only you can tell the difference.

It will work similar to a glass of wine or any other brainwave diffuser. The SCN units get a false positive – and they start the sleep countdown. For them – the boss said sleep is to be started – they don’t want to be told again.

The most helpful answer I have ever given – try to solve sleep with diet and exercise. It may take a few weeks – but usually within 22-24 days the human brain is able to replace a memory.

Our sleep quality can be judged best – by our own reflection. It’s a fascinating idea – and the correct one.
